We all knew it was coming, and now here it is. Apple’s new iPad multi-touch tablet computer. It may turn out to be revolutionary, but I’m not so sure. It looks to be little more than a large iPod Touch. But perhaps that’s where it succeeds. Perhaps a large iPod Touch is exactly what will change the face of computing.
Students may find it perfectly fits in with taking notes in class and writing papers. Casual computer users may love it for its size, weight, and ability to access the Internet from anywhere with a WiFi or 3G signal (should you opt for the 3G version). It may certainly supplant the Kindle for many.
But where’s the iSight camera? The handwriting recognition? Can you draw on it? Does it multitask?
Update: Yes, you can draw on it if the application supports drawing. But no, there is no multitasking.
